The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has recently launched an AI-powered chatbot called Aadhaar Mitra, to assist citizens with their Aadhaar-related queries. The chatbot, powered by AI and machine learning, will respond to Aadhaar-based queries, such as tracking Aadhaar PVC status, registering complaints, and more.
As chatbot services gain popularity with Open AI’s ChatGPT gaining the limelight, businesses are increasingly adopting chatbots as the go-to tool for customer interaction. In its tweet announcing the new AI digital assistant, UIDAI stated that Aadhaar Mitra is now available to provide better resident interaction. The AI-powered chatbot will allow users to track Aadhaar PVC card status, register complaints, and more.
Aadhaar Mitra aims to improve the overall resident experience by training the chatbot to answer a range of Aadhaar-related queries. The UIDAI’s website states that the chatbot can respond to queries on Aadhaar-related topics, provide information on locating Aadhaar centers, check Aadhaar enrollment/update status, file complaints, check complaint status, locate enrollment centers, and book an appointment. With the Aadhaar Mitra chatbot, users are no longer required to visit the Aadhaar enrollment center to update their Aadhaar card. They can apply for a duplicate Aadhaar if the original is lost as well.
Using Aadhaar Mitra is straightforward. Users can simply type their query into the chatbot to receive immediate responses. They can access the chatbot by visiting the UIDAI website and clicking on the Aadhaar Mitra box in the bottom right corner. The chatbot will open with a greeting and prompt users to “Get Started.” Once they ask a question, the chatbot will reply with the answer. Users can also give feedback on the answers by rating them on a scale of 1 to 5. This feedback will be collected by the UIDAI team to further analyze and improve Aadhaar Mitra.
