Follow the Footsteps : After Microsoft and Google, now Opera to integrate ChatGPT

Since launch of ChatGPT, search engines have been engaging in a fierce competition to incorporate artificial intelligence into their search mechanisms. Initially, Microsoft signaled its intentions to integrate AI functionality with bing, followed shortly by Google. The latest entrant into the race is Opera, who has announced its plans to integrate ChatGPT into its offerings.

Kunlun Tech, the parent company of Opera, has announced plans to integrate ChatGPT into its products, as reported by CNBC. The exact details of the integration and its functionalities are yet to be revealed by the company. Opera offers a range of products including a web browser, GameMaker for game development, and Loomi for video streaming. With only a 2.4% market share in the browser market, trailing behind Chrome, Firefox, and Samsung Internet, it remains to be seen where ChatGPT will be integrated within Opera’s portfolio. Microsoft recently announced AI integration into its Edge browser and Bing search engine, while Google attempted to do so with its AI chatbot Bard, which faced inaccuracies during its demo and resulted in a $100 billion loss in value for Alphabet Inc.
