OpenAI recently introduced ChatGPT Plus, a subscription plan costing $20 monthly that offers priority access to the AI chatbot, even during peak hours when free users would have to wait. The company promises faster response times and priority access to new features and upgrades. Invitations for the service will be sent out to US residents on its waitlist in the coming weeks, with plans to expand to other countries in the future.
Previously, it was rumored that OpenAI was planning to launch a pro version of the service at $42 per month, but the lower price point of $20 makes it more accessible to a wider audience, including students and businesses. This could set a benchmark for other paid AI chatbots set to hit the market, with competitors having to justify a higher price point than ChatGPT Plus.
That being said the good news is , OpenAI will continue to offer free access to ChatGPT and states that paid users will support free access availability for others.
