A study commissioned by AWS revealed that workers in India with advanced digital skills, such as cloud architecture and software development, contributed around ₹10.9 lakh crore or USD 507.9 billion to India’s gross domestic product. The study, conducted by Gallup, found that workers with advanced digital skills earned 92% higher salaries in India compared to those without such skills. The study, which covered 2,005 working adults and 769 employers in India, classified digital skills into basic, intermediate, and advanced categories. While 80% of organizations employing workers with advanced digital skills reported higher annual revenue growth, 88% of organizations faced difficulties in finding suitable talent. The report suggested that industry certifications could help ease the hiring challenges for many Indian firms.
