Revving Up Style: The Revolutionary Color-Changing Car

It’s no secret that BMW is always pushing the boundaries of automotive technology. At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023, they unveiled a prototype car DEE, that can change colors on demand — and it was quite the showstopper! This car uses E-ink technology to allow users to customize their exterior with up to 32 different color options. Glimpse of color changing can be viewed here.

The exterior of the DEE features a film made by startup company E Ink, known for creating display technology for electronic readers and mobile devices. This film is comprised of segments containing millions of small micro capsules that hold various color pigments. These micro capsules can alter their hues according to electricity supplied to them.

Using cutting edge technology and innovation, this revolutionary concept has allowed drivers to express themselves through customizing their vehicles like never before. Not only does it give them an opportunity to stand out from other cars on the road but also allows for more personalization than ever before when it comes to owning a vehicle.

BMW has not disclosed much details regarding the engine or battery specifications of the DEE concept car. However, the interiors is equipped with a Head-Up Display, a digital dashboard that extends across the entire windshield. Additionally, it features a Mixed Reality Slider, a touch screen that allows the user to adjust the level of digital content displayed on the dashboard, including driving speed, battery range, music controls, and text messages.

In conclusion, the DEE prototype offers a glimpse into the future of automotive design with its color-changing capabilities. However, it’s important to note that the technology behind this feature may not be available for commercial use for some time. Nevertheless, the DEE serves as a reminder of the exciting possibilities that advancements in technology can bring to the automobile industry. As we wait for the DEE to hit the market, we can only imagine the ways in which it will change the way we think about our vehicles and the role they play in our daily lives.
